About Buddhist Teacher Gretchen Newmark

After meditating for many years and experiencing teachers and methods from different Buddhist traditions, Gretchen met Lama Ole Nydahl in 1996 and co-founded the Portland Diamond Way Buddhist Center two months later.

She works as a dietitian and counselor in private practice specializing in eating disorders, as well as a spiritual director, a kind of counseling that focuses on spirituality.

Gretchen Newman has taught health-related topics and hatha yoga for many years and began teaching meditation to beginners in 2000. She has been teaching in Diamond Way centers since 2006.

For Whom is this course?

If you are interested to learn more about Buddhism this weekend course in 4 sessions is a perfect opportunity.

Especially Saturday the first day is ideal for beginners. There will be also time to ask questions.

At the end of each session we invite you to take part in a guided short meditation.

If you like to join us on Saturday for a light dinner (by donation) at 6pm please RSVP no later than Wednesday 31st of October or bring your own meal or snack.

On Sunday you will have the opportunity to learn about the deep

Buddhist wisdom of Death and Rebirth.

Followed by a 30 minute tea /coffee break in-between sessions.

The last session is giving you some insight in the Bodhisattva Motivation and Activity (going the Buddhist path)
