 About Grisha

Grisha was born in 1956 in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) in the former USSR. He initially trained as a Hydroacoustic engineer at the Leningrad State Shipbuilding Institute and later as a stage director at the Leningrad State Academy of Theater and Cinema, where he is now a professor teaching actors of the stage and screen. He took Buddhist refuge with Lama Ole Nydahl in 1989. From that time on he has been involved in a lot of dharma activities, including as the tour coordinator for Diamond Way Teachers in Russia. Lama Ole asked him to teach in 1999, and since then he has taught in Diamond Way centres in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, throughout Europe, in Israel and in Latin America.
